28. 10.1918

The day the republic was born.

An independent Czechoslovak state was proclaimed on 28 October 1918. After centuries under the Habsburg monarchy, a new chapter began in the shared history of Czechs and Slovaks.

This edition commemorates that day and the story behind it.

28 October in the National Archives ↗

Colours we recognise.

The first flag of the new state was white and red. The blue triangle came later. The independent Czech Republic subsequently adopted the Czechoslovak flag.

We brought white, red and blue to two Iconic models. Each wears them differently. Both commemorate 28 October.
